Licensing History & Status

IET patents have made substantial contributions to their respective technology fields. Following is a summary of their history and current status.

1. Analog Signal Interface Technology

Signal conditioning apparatus circuit patents:

RE37,130 Signal conditioning apparatus
6,211,731 Impedance altering apparatus
6,078,215 Impedance altering apparatus
5,694,081 Signal conditioning apparatus
5,436,593 Signal conditioning apparatus
5,386,148 Signal conditioning apparatus

All IET signal conditioning apparatus patent technology can be licensed on a non-exclusive basis with exclusive licenses a possibility for specialized fields of use. These patented inventions are currently licensed non-exclusively to Anamir Electronics, Inc. for application to automotive entertainment system interface and signal conditioning products.

These circuits achieve high levels of effective signal isolation and so eliminate common mode interference related to analog signal interconnects. The circuits are inherently stable, place no constraints on circuit input impedance or output impedance, are insensitive to large imbalances in source impedance, and can be configured to inherently protect inputs and outputs from short circuit and accidental connection to power supply potentials.

IET is available to provide consulting, research and develop services with respect to this innovative and extremely cost effective signal isolation technology on a reduced price basis in conjunction with an appropriate licensing agreement.

2. Analog Audio Noise Gate Technology

This patent features the use of a solid state relay to gate loudspeakers in conjunction with a mixed analog and discrete digital control circuit that is able to avoid triggering on random noise spikes in the signal:

5,664,022 Noise gate control circuitry for electronic systems

This patented technology is available for licensing on a non-exclusive basis. It is currently licensed non-exclusively to Anamir Electronics, Inc.

IET is available to provide consulting, research and develop services with respect to this innovative and extremely cost effective signal isolation technology on a reduced price basis in conjunction with an appropriate licensing agreement.

3. Automotive entertainment system Interface technology

System interface technology patent applications:

20080002275 Auxiliary interface apparatus
20060093155 Interface enhancement apparatus

IET’s innovations in interface technology are available for licensing on a non-exclusive basis. These technologies include adapting ordinary radio controls to expand the source selection and improve the fidelity of entertainment systems to methods for the adaptation of digital remote control protocols to provide for expanded functions for remote control of devices with greater capabilities.

IET is available to provide consulting, research and develop services with respect to this innovative and extremely cost effective signal isolation technology on a reduced price basis in conjunction with an appropriate licensing agreement.

4. Sensor & Transducer Technology

4,851,770 Displacement sensor having dual tank circuits
4,841,245 Displacement sensor having multiplexed dual tank circuits
4,777,436 Inductance coil sensor
4,663,589 Displacement sensor having multiplexed dual tank circuits
4,658,153 Planar coil apparatus for providing a frequency output vs. position
4,637,265 Sensor apparatus
4,503,922 Electronic bathroom scale apparatus using planar coil sensors

This technology featured the use of sensors etched on printed circuit boards among other possibilities in conjunction with demodulation technology that effectively abstracted inductance variations in the printed circuit board coils as a function of the position of a moving aluminum spoiler. The technology features high levels of temperature insensitivity, high linearity and resolution, plus extremely low noise, all with an extremely low cost circuit that does not need any compensation or adjustments so it is ideally suited for high volume and low cost applications. While the technology was developed primarily for linear and rotary position transduction, it was also applied to non-contact torque measurement suitable for automotive electronic steering wheel sensors.

IET Sensor & Transducer Technology Patents have now all expired. No license is necessary to make, use, or sell this technology. The technology was originally exclusively licensed to Sensor Technologies, Inc. which was subsequently acquired by Measurement Specialties, Inc.

IET is, however, continuing to work on improving this technology, and IET is available to provide consulting, research and development services with respect to such sensor and transducer technology. IET is prepared to provide advanced digital interface features in addition to low cost micro-controller implementations of the required circuit functions, not to mention a number of new ideas that may be applied to to improve such sensors and transducers.

5. Musical Keyboard Sensor Technology

4,838,139 Musical keyboard
4,580,478 Musical keyboard using planar coil arrays

This technology featured the use of sensors etched on printed circuit boards arrayed for application in an electronic music keyboard.  These Patents have now all expired. No licenses are necessary to make, use, or sell this technology. It was originally licensed on an exclusive basis to Ensoniq Corp. and was used in their line of innovative sampling synthesizers starting with their renowned EPS model.

IET is available to provide consulting, research and development services with respect to such sensor and transducer technology. IET is prepared to provide advanced digital interface features in addition to low cost micro-controller implementations of the required circuit functions.

6. Pulse Width Modulation Digital to Analog and Analog to Digital Circuit Patents
